A note regarding COVID-19: Please watch your email inbox, Facebook, and our website for information regarding this event. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and any cancellation of the monthly meeting will be announced via those means of communication.
Please join us on Monday, April 27, for a talk by area birder, Doug Klein, entitled “The Birds of Barry County.” Doug will discuss the genesis of the Barry County Bird Club and how he put together a complete and cumulative list of birds for the county. Additionally, he will share the most interesting bird sightings on the Barry County master list and some of the best places and seasons to seek out interesting birds in the area.
Doug Klein grew up in Grand Rapids and has been birding for 47 years. He attended Michigan State University (Go Spartans!) and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Doug and his wife, Anne, started the Barry County Bird Club in 2014, and they lead field trips for their club and for Michigan Audubon’s Cerulean Warbler Weekend. Doug and Anne have six children, one of whom is an accomplished birder. Doug works for an insurance company which enables him to travel all over North America. Birding is always a part of those travels. Doug is also a member of the Barry County Parks Commission.
