Meet to carpool in the back parking lot of The Crew Family Restaurant (formerly Perkins) on the southwest corner of Cork Street and Sprinkle Road.

We’ll drive to the Kalamazoo Valley Bird Observatory northeast of Vicksburg to view bird banding. Rich and Brenda Keith, ASK members, have run this operation for many years. Warbler migration should be varied and high in numbers. We’ll get to see these little birds and others close up. Joyce volunteered with the Keiths and then the Kalamazoo Nature Center for a season and was hooked on birding. She had thought she knew quite a lot about birds here in Michigan, but her eyes were opened to just how many, and what variety, we have right here in our Southwest Michigan woods. Of course dress appropriately with walking shoes, long pants, and long sleeves. Easy walking, short distance.  Back by 11:00.
