Saturday, April 27, 8:30 AM, Asylum Lake Preserve, Leaders: Donna Keller and Jan Shillito (269-720-8063)
Meet at the parking lot at the top of the hill at the edge of the prairie on Drake Road about a half-mile south of Stadium Drive.

We’ll walk the woodland trails and the grassland area. Time permitting, we can also check out the lakes. At this time of year, we’ll be looking for early migrants and year-round residents, such as Brown Creeper, Hermit Thrush, Brown Thrasher, Ruby- crowned Kinglet, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and maybe an Eastern Meadowlark. Dress for the weather. Bring your binoculars, bird book, and insect repellant. Some of the trails are somewhat hilly and on the rough side so caution and sturdy footwear are advised. The trip will be about 2-3 hours.
