Meet at the Chevy Chase entrance to the preserve at 8:30 AM. Chevy Chase crosses Oakland Drive about a quarter of a mile north of Parkview Avenue. Turn east onto Chevy Chase and go down the hill one block. The preserve entrance is at the guardrail just around the corner.

Let’s see what migrants we can find in the preserve! Target species include Great-Crested Flycatcher, Blue-Headed Vireo, Winter Wren, Golden- and Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Hermit Thrush, Pine Warbler. Maybe we will get a look at a Barred Owl. Route will include a mostly flat walk to the ring trail around the marsh and may include the hillier route on the new “Little Sister” property, depending on the birding. All trails are dirt and are of varying widths, some narrow. Total distance 1.5- 2.5 miles.
