Meet at the commuter parking lot on the corner of I-94 and Oakland Drive. We’ll carpool to Fort Custer and mostly be looking for southbound migrant passerines. There may be a few flycatchers still moving through or a couple of early migrant sparrows, but it will be the right timing for many warblers and vireos. Please remember that while some of the warblers may be in winter plumage, not all have a duller winter plumage and they will be fresh and brilliant. I am expecting to stop at a few different locations within the park. The walking we do will be limited and on good level trails. It may be wise to have mosquito repellant along and certainly dress for the weather. I expect we would be back by about 11 or 11:30.
