Meet at 8:30 AM on Commerce Lane across from the post office and next to the river, just north of Mosel Avenue. Park along the road. We will cross the river and go north on the paved Kalamazoo River Valley Trail to Markin Glen Park and then backtrack. The trail is level and has periodic views of the meandering river. This is the last part of the songbird migration, but a number of vireos, warblers, and thrushes could be present. This area has a supply of fruiting shrubs, and the river helps support a good insect population and finding a good food source is often a key to finding birds. The walk will be about three miles, round trip. Insect repellent may be needed. We should be done by 10:30 or 11:00.
