Meet at the Texas Drive parking lot just east of the boy scout camp entrance (6310 Texas Drive, Kalamazoo).
We will walk approximately three miles, looping through the preserve and stopping at some of the prime birding spots along the way. This will also serve as an introduction or refresher course on the trail system, which can be intimidating to new visitors. Along with the resident woodland birds, we will likely see some of the dabbling duck species which have spent the winter along the creek. Target species also include Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Red-breasted Nuthatch. Expect to be back at the trailhead by around 11:30.
