Mel Visser loves the northern waters of Lake Superior and the crisp, cold Arctic regions further north. So it’s only natural that he is eager to share his photos and experiences from a recent trip to the Northwest Passage and beyond. And while he refers to his January 27th presentation as “a celebration of the area,” he will also touch on how global warming has entered the picture and how chemical pollution has impacted the landscape and lifestyle of the residents of the frozen north. Through photos he purchased from a professional photographer and his own spin on the way of things, he will focus on geography, wildlife, and culture, and no doubt make his audience yearn just a bit for at least one experience similar to his.

This program will be held at People’s Church, 1758 North 10th Street, Kalamazoo, on Monday, January 27. The program starts at 7:30 PM and is preceded by a social time with light refreshments at 7:00. Guests and the general public are encouraged to attend. Handicap parking and access is at either the front or rear of the building. Please remember to bring your own coffee cup.
