Meet at 7:00 AM if carpooling. If you want to stay for the duration of the trip we will carpool from the Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery parking lot. The hatchery is six miles west of US-131 on the southwest corner of M-43 and Fish Hatchery Drive. The parking lot is on Fish Hatchery Drive a tenth of a mile to the south of M-43. Or if you choose, you can meet us at the north pier at about 7:45 AM. If it’s too foul to go out on the north pier, we’ll watch from the south pier or from the north beach near the refreshment stand.
Some of the species we might see are Baird’s Sandpiper, Bonaparte’s Gull, and Forster’s and Common Terns.
If you have a spotting scope, be sure to bring it. If you don’t, come anyway; there will be scopes to share. Dress for the weather. You might want to bring a small chair, and a hat and sunscreen might be a good idea. I expect to be back by about 11:00 AM. Also, don’t “tank up” on liquids, as there are no facilities.
