Events Single Title Lakeshore Migrant Watch

October 28, 2023

Please meet at Tiscornia Park, St. Joseph, Michigan, at 9:00 AM.

We will return to Tiscornia Park again this year to look for shorebirds, ducks, gulls, and late migrants. This is a lovely 16-acre beach on Lake Michigan with small rolling sand dunes, a pier, and lighthouse. We will scan the lake for migrant activity, and possibly walk a bit of the beach if we need to get in closer range. Ducks should be on the move, and rarities can show up this time of year. Bring spotting scopes if you have them, and an extra layer or two of clothing.

We will stop afterward at Caffè Tosi, 516 Pleasant Street, St. Joseph, for a warm-up.

Leaders: Sue Creager and Kent Martin (256-751-3358)
