Neonicotinoid Pesticides: Please Avoid Them

February 22, 2018

By Russ Schipper
Neonicotinoid pesticides are very effective at killing insect pests. They are also very effective at harming or killing birds that eat the fruit, seeds, or insects that have fed on a “protected” plant. Some companies, such as The Scotts Company, are phasing them out, but as you can see from this comprehensive list from the American Bird Conservancy, they are still widely available. Please avoid them.
