Field Trip

Asylum Lake Preserve
Kalamazoo, MI
USA

Saturday, April 29, 8:30 AM, Asylum Lake Preserve, Leader: Susan Creager (269) 716-7988

We will be birding Asylum Lake Preserve. There is ample parking in the Drake Road parking lot and we will meet and start from there. We will bird through various habitats; boots would be a good choice along with layered clothing. We will spend about 2.5 hours walking trails that meander through fields, forest, the lake side, and streams. There will be binoculars available for beginners; we have them for adults and children. There will be 20 minutes of binocular instruction before we start the walk. We will be counting various species. If you can download the Merlin App from Cornell Lab on your phone, it is a great help with identifying bird songs and calls.
