Field trips and bird counts are held rain or shine; they are only cancelled in severe weather. Contact the leader listed or check the ASK Facebook page if conditions are questionable.
Events Single Title Field Trip - Open Country Birding!

Explore open country areas of Kalamazoo County for winter visitors and resident birds. We’ll be looking for Horned Larks, Snow Buntings, Rough-legged Hawks, and some of the less common seed-eaters and raptors. Redpolls are possible this year, and there could be an owl sighting at the end of the day for hardy birders.
Meet at the Park ‘n Ride lot on Angling Road south off of Centre Avenue, next to highway US-131, to join our caravan. This will be a driving tour with occasional stops to scan or use a spotting scope. Bring extra layers of clothing and warm boots – it’s almost always windy and cold!
