Application Period Is Open For BIPOC Research Grant

October 10, 2021

In an effort to support research being done by Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and to have more diversity in our speaker series line-up, the Audubon Society of Kalamazoo (ASK) is offering a $500 grant to a BIPOC researcher to support future research in the field of ornithology, biology or ecology. The program committee will select the winner based on relevance of the research to current issues and accessibility/interest to an audience composed mainly of laypersons (not researchers). The winner will be expected to make a presentation about their research, including a visual component, at our monthly meeting via Zoom on Monday, January 24, 2022, 7:30-8:30 pm. The grant will be paid upon completion of the presentation. Grant applications are due by November 30th.
*Because of our non-profit status, this grant must be given through a 501(C)3 organization or other non-profit entities such as governmental agencies or educational institutions.

The grant application can be accessed here; it is a PDF fillable form.
